Nick Mahlik

Born on August 8, 1979, in Green Bay, Wis., Nick Mahlik has grown up with racing in his blood. His father Arnie competed on the local racing circuit, and brother Doug is currently 37. Nick is currently competing in the American Stockcar Association (ASA) Late Model series, and in contention for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title.

As many racecar drivers do, Mahlik became involved with racing at a very early age. At the age of 10, he began working on brother Doug's dirt modified crew. At 17, Mahlik continued to assist his brother's racing team as he competed in various asphalt series, including the ASA National Tour. When Doug graduated to the NASCAR Craftsman truck series, Nick moved along with him, serving as crew chief, and leading Team Mahlik to a 20 th finish at Louden, New Hampshire.

Nick gained valuable driving experience racing three seasons in the dirt modified class while juggling a full class load at University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. After earning his college degree in marketing and many years of hands-on experience, Mahlik is setting out to test his asphalt late model driving skills in the Medi-Vans sponsored 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Other sponsors for the 2005 season include Victory Sign, Commercial Auto Body, Metro Fleet Service, and Prax Air.

When not in the garage or on the track, Mahlik serves as general manager of Medi-Vans and plays an active role in managing the company's affiliates and inventory. He enjoys spending time with his especially supportive parents and family, who have helped him make his racing goals a reality, boating, snowmobiling and watching college football.
